In this respect, my leadership skills development and progression involve having the capacity to motivate and influence my subordinates to work in concert to achieve set objectives. Good leadership in the field of nursing is likely to draw on different theories according to the task at hand, my team’s needs and the local circumstances. As a leader, my goal is to be an effective leader with the ability to positively influence my subordinates. Achieving this goal is linked to my weaknesses and strengths. Concerning my weaknesses, I have poor interpersonal skills, low self-confidence, and limited administrative skills. With regards to my strengths, I am diligent, organized, structured, responsible, articulate, task oriented, and good at planning and managing resources. I comprehend that my improvement as a leader relies on how well I can minimize these weaknesses while building on the strengths. As a result, I intend to be an effective leader by leveraging my skills through building on my strengths while eliminating my weaknesses.
