The NPWH believes that using the best evidence is the key to practice excellence and being able to provide high quality health care. Therefore, the association established the Professional Organization: Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health 4 Research Agenda for Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. The Research Agenda has two goals. The first goal was to identify gaps in practice evidence, and then to develop clinical research priorities to address these gaps. The second goal was to promote information that encourages clinical researchers to pursue these priorities. On 2013-2016, the Research Agenda Committee identified priorities such as family planning, sexually transmitted infections, preconception care, preterm birth, obesity, cancer, mental health, violence, menopause, and access to care.
