Introduction
‘Know Stroke’ is a four-page brochure that presents some useful and brief information for persons who are interested in knowing about stroke. In fact, it is an important kit that prepares readers to identify and manage stroke effectively, while including contact information on how to know more about stroke (National Institution of Health, 2013). The present letter explores reader related aspects of the brochure to determine its value and influence, and whether more can be done to improve the value.

Issues of accuracy
The brochure presents an inviting and accurate description of stroke while emphasizing the content relevance to the public. In this case, the content includes brief statements that define stroke as a medical condition, its causes and types, results, symptoms, and management. Still, it is notable that the content does not mention demographics. In fact, it should have mention age whereby although stroke occurs in people of all ages, it is more common among older adults with the risk of having the condition doubling every year after 55 years of age and higher risk of death among African American populations (The Internet Stroke Center, 2018). The brochure content was subjected to readability scale tests to determine its reading level. Secondly, it has used contrasting background colors that are visually pleasing and contrasting with the text thereby highlighting the content. The content presentation has been conducted in a logical manner to progress from occurrence to management, and always directs the discussion towards the topic at hand. Fourthly, the brochure addresses the key points on stroke, covering the most important content for the public. Finally, it provides resources for readers to explore in acquiring more information on stroke to include a phone number and website. As such, the brochure has a dynamic presentation that includes creative expression to awaken the readers’ interest.

Influence to public
The brochure can be considered influential to the public. That is because it focuses on information relevant to the public. In addition, the author is the National Institute of Health, a government agency that can be trusted to provide truthful and helpful information. Besides that, the information presented in the brochure is generalized thereby making it useful to all age groups. Besides that, it has a dynamic presentation that includes creative expression to awaken the readers’ interest.
